The Department of Education creates in A Guarda a subsidiary section with official academic validity under the General Regulations of the Music Conservatories, according to Decree 2618, of September 10 and with the approval and reports favorable of the Provincial Education Organizations and the Proposal of the Provincial Delegation of the Education Department of Pontevedra.<\/p>\n
It stayed as a subsidiary of the Higher Conservatory of Vigo until 1996\/97 academic year, when it became a Conservatory of musical of municipal ownership nor dependent on the Department of Education.<\/p>\n
The schedule of operation of the center are from Monday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 10 p.m.; within it the academic, administrative, attention to parents, etc. activities are developed.<\/p>\n
The instrumental specialties that are taught are the following: piano, guitar, Galician bagpipe, metal wind (clarinet, saxophone, flute), violin and viola. In addition, from 2007\/2008 academic year, there are two preparatory groups, from 15 students each, for children under 8 years of age.<\/p>\n
